Google has recently released more features for the Google Maps API. There are a lot of new mashup possibilities with this service and for location based businesses, the ability to add overlays to the maps will certainly help customer find store or product retail locations.

In the following example, we are using a Joomla Plugin written by Mike Reumer. Mike's plugin gives a content author the ability to insert a google map on any web Joomla web page.

This map incorporates a saved KML file from www.wayfaring.com , a website were users can geolocate and catelog landmarks and features around the globe.
