In March / April 2008, Kevin completed project work for CMAEON, a web based connected marketspace service provider. The project involved converting the existing Revelstoke Mountain Resort properties website which was a flash-based site into a Joomla 1.5 powered website.

The major goal with this conversion was to introduce physical pages for content so that the website could be optimized for search engine indexing. With the flash-based site, Google searchbots could not crawl or index the content, and the site ranked poorly as a result.

Project requirements included:

• Make the Joomla 1.5 website look and function as close as possible to the original flash site.
• Site width could not change. site height could not change
• All pages should support SEO, so content needs to be clean and unencumbered by layout HTML.

Project work involved:

• Building a Joomla 1.5 Template from scratch
• Custom CSS to allow for the varied placement of content, content boxes, page layouts, hovers, etc.
• sIFR technique for rich text titles
• dynamic rounded box that can scale to any size within the main view (uses one rounded PNG image)
• IE6 background transparency hack
• Custom editor.css so that users creating and editing copy could see an approximate output of what the final copy on page would look like--helps users select the right styles and formats during copy creation.
• Animated content flyin
• Animated fade-ins
• In page scrollbar for long content.
